You’re not scabbed knees and bloody hands
You’re hair clips and rubber bands
Old shirts and ripped jeans
A pot of gold and magic beans
Red lips and pale skin
Red wine with a white rim
Soft hands and sweaty sex
Love me like friday checks
Touch me like an old wound
Goodbyes come too soon
Hot sand and cold water
A hundred candles in a flower altar
Black dresses and white suits
Grilled cheese and tomato soup
You’re not bloody scabs and cigarette burns
You’re drunkin cabs and wiggles worms
You’re power outages and camp fires
Dirty clothes and tangled wires
Late nights on empty roads
Play fights with no clothes
Whispers that make me blush
Screams when you’ve had enough
Kiss me like watered down leaves
Pouring out like tea pots, love bleeds
Bite marks and back scratches
Burnt skin and freckle patches
You’re not bloody knuckles and broken teeth
You’re Greek Gods and Hindu priests
Surf boards and coral reefs
You’re not black eyes and bloody noses
You’re crossed thighs and dried roses
You’re snake venom in desert air
Chipped nails and tangled hair
Paper cranes and smeared paint
A thousand lives, a young saint
You’re not brused thighs and bloody spit
You’re bloodshot eyes and smoke tricks
You’re puffy clouds and shooting stars
You’re handcuffs, put ‘em ups, and prison bars
You’re no traffic, a full tank, and open roads
Pillow fights, starry nights, and no clothes
You’re not scabbed knees and bloody hands
You’re hair clips and rubber bands
You’re not bloody scabs and cigarette burns
You’re drunkin cabs and wiggles worms
You’re not black eyes and bloody noses
You’re crossed thighs and dried roses
You’re not bloody knuckles and broken teeth
You’re Greek Gods and Hindu priests
You’re not brused thighs and bloody spit
You’re bloodshot eyes and smoke tricks

I love your eyes
Brown but not ordinary
But theres where I read your lies
Its not fair to me baby
For if I didn’t love to look, I wouldn’t
Always stealing my attention, you crook
I’ve tried to look away, and I couldn’t
Just a taste was all it took
If I’d ever seen perfection, you’re the closest thing to it
Just look at your complexion, and that grin
I can’t believe I blew it
I can’t believe how much times its been
I can’t believe I never knew it
I love your laugh
The way your face wrinkles around the eyes
I’m over the past
I forgive you
Surprise!
As if I could ever live without you in my life
What was already was, but love is what is
Even if I don’t become your wife
And have your kids
Nobody’s perfect, but you were always perfect for me
Sometimes you’re mean, and I don’t deserve it
But I’ll take it, one day you’ll learn to play on a team
Hopefully you’ll still be playing with me
You can’t deny our connection
I know you see it too!
And let me make a correction
Perfect doesn’t come close to you

If I am a tree you must be the wind, tickling me, trying to make me laugh, blowing me away,
Dancing with every leaf, in that flawless way you sway.
If you are the earth, I would be the sun, kissing every part of you I could see.
We’d spin in circles, for our own twisted fun, never getting dizzy.
If I am the sky, then you are the purest shade of blue,
And yes I would be beautiful, but only because of you.
If you are an ocean, I’d be a ship, lost at sea.
With salt on my lips, I wouldn’t want anyone to rescue me.
If you are the ground beneath the highest mountain peak,
I’d already be on my way down, falling for you, before ever having time to think.
If I were a song, I’d be yours to sing.
For you I could be everything, I could be anything.

If you were my only, and I were your one,
I’d wake you in the morning, like the rising sun.
If you were for me, and we were forever,
I’d dread every moment we weren’t together.
If I were your love, and you truly were mine
I’d love you with a head of grey hair, until the end of my time.
Even if we weren’t perfect, but had love holding us strong,
I’d keep trying, no matter what went wrong.
If we had a romance, so epic and pure,
I’d lay love-sick with you as my cure.
If you were my love, I’d never leave you lonely…
But I’m not the one, and you’re not my only.

You’re a memory, a fog of images flashing behind closed eyelids,
a reacquiring dream, a memory.
A bedtime hum to close the eyes, carrying you throughout time,
to sooth the minds of blood soon to come.
You’re a treasury, filled with gold, jewels, and desire,
a remembrance of which I will always aspire.
You’re a memory, a light from the past,
you’re the spark of electricity shining bright on this emery path.
You’re a gust of wind, keeping me afloat, up above in the clouds,
upon our meeting place where only you and I are aloud.
You’re a memory, a timeless thought,
where even after a century, I couldn’t of possibly forgot.
You’re a memory, always with me, a memory.

awakenedphilosopher asked: hey, just wanted to say that your poem, pretty eyes, blind to lies was wonderful! you're quite talented :)
Thank you!! <3
My lips, shaped for suduction.
My hips, had you thinking about reproduction.
My eyes, trapped yours.
These thighs, had you locking doors.
My words made their place in your head.
These curves had you ready for bed.
My hair, remember how you pulled it.
My body bare, you can’t forget how you’d hold it.
My touch, sent shivers down your spine.
Good luck, getting over me takes time.

You shot me in the back as I turned away,
Then ran to my side to see if I was okay.
I knew I was hit, but I couldn’t see the blood,
Blinded by love.
I though I was safe, away from harm,
Deaf, I couldn’t hear the alarms.
Don’t you think I’m pretty, dripping in blood?
Soaked in evidence of careless love.
Lips like daggers, scaring with every line,
Tattoos left, to keep you in mind.
Stained by empty words, left on my skin,
Somehow the lies always seem to seep in.
Don’t I look pretty, beaten black and blue?
Bruises you left to remind me of you.
You push me down so I’ll look up to you.
My heart, body, and mind were never enough for you.
All you ever did was lie, but your lies have caught up to you.
You’re not going to watch me die, I’ve already given up on you.

I want you to laugh, smile, scream,
Anything to let me know you’re still with me.
Open your eyes, I need you.
This isn’t how you die, hope will heal you.
Relax mommy,
Come back to me.
Come back mommy,
I need you here with me.
Relax mom, breath.
I’m begging you, please.
Open your eyes, because I love you.
Do it for me.
Come back to me, because I need you,
More than you ever needed me.

Fall for me, drop.
Climb to the highest peak,
And jump from the top.
I want to see your heart race,
The rush will feel good.
Let me see you fall on your face,
And shatter like you should.
Let go, give up, break free.
Trust the wind, whichever way you sway,
Fall for me, jump.
Suffocate, as I take your breath away.

Yell at me! Scream!
Point me to the door
Demand me to leave!
In a couple of days
You’ll be back for more
So lets pretend
To go our separate ways
And try things out as friends
I’ll wait for the words “I miss you”
Right next to the phone
“You don’t know how bad I’ve wanted to kiss you!”
I know you hate sleeping alone
You know I need you for my heart to beat steady
So call me when you’re ready

You’re my light,
The sun, the stars,
My sight.
You’re the air I breathe.
You’re the ground beneath my feet.
You are everything,
You’re everything to me.
You’re my smile,
My laugh.
You’re today,
Tomorrow,
And everyday that’s
Ever passed.
You’re the color
On my canvas.
You’re the peanut butter,
And the jelly in my sandwich.
You’re silver, bronze,
And gold.
You are everything.
My heart,
My soul,
My whole.
You’re my blood,
My pulse,
You’re everything inside.
You’re everything.
You’re whats keeping me alive.

Every once in a while,
I see someone with your eyes
or smile, and I stare.
Here and again, I hope
somewhere, wherever you are
you care…
Now and then,
I like to pretend,
it was you who kissed me goodnight.
I remember back then, when
you loved me too,
when it was you who made things alright.
I miss the days when we were best friends,
young and so in love.
Way back when, I would pretend,
I knew you were the one.
But what I didn’t know
was our love would end,
and tonight I’d be sleeping alone.
